Boyd County Constable's Office District 1 is an office for the people by the people. We have a broad range of law enforcement duties set forth by the Kentucky Constitution. We are here to serve not only the residents of district 1 but the whole county. Constable Ramsdell will lead our office with professionalism and integrity. HISTORY
From the Start
In Kentucky, the position of Constable was established in the 1850 Constitution. The present Constitution requires the election of one constable in each justice of the peace (known as magistrate) district. Constables are Peace Officers with broad powers of arrest and authority to serve court processes.
